Tangerine has released results of a recent survey which has found a surprising lack of information about Tax Free Savings Accounts getting through to Canadians.

Over 25% of of Canadians are unsure how TFA’s work
31% were unaware you can carry over contribution room from previous years
31% were also unaware TFA’s can be contributed to at any time in the year

Tangerine Matching Client Donations towards Canadian Red Cross Relief for Napal

Starting April 29 Tangerine clients can support the Red Cross in Nepal and make a donation matched by Tangerine up to $50,000.00 directly through their Tangerine Chequing account.

Emergency assistance is being provided by the Red Cross after a devastating earthquake that struck near Kathmandu, Nepal causing widespread destruction.

Tangerine will be matching donations until May 29, 2015.   For donations of $20 or more, a tax receipt will be issued by the Canadian Red Cross.

Tangerine Dubs ‘Saver Monday’ , offers bonuses Dec 1 – 5

Canadian bank Tangerine releases new results from their latest survey about spending habits and priorities for Canadians this Cyber Monday.   Tangerine found 80% of respondents indicated they would not participate in Cyber Monday shopping, and most would rather save their money.   Other top financial priorities included: saving money (55%) , paying off credit cards (31%), saving for Boxing day deals (16%).
